Yellowjacket Hover Fly

Sometimes it takes me a while between the time I find something and the time I get it identified so I can post it. In this case it was about 4 months. This is a Milesia virginiensis or Yellowjacket Hover Fly. The name discribes it perfectly.
1) It is a fly. It is a really big fly about the size of a Please-don't-let-it-bite-me.
2) It hovers. It can be perfectly still while airborne. A really odd thing to see.
3) It looks like a Yellowjacket.
